Last Fall, Job Corps students volunteered at the Regional Business Council’s neighborhood Clean Up Build up event in the College Hill neighborhood, working alongside volunteers from Keeley Companies, among many other business and community volunteers, to help revitalize the area by removing brush and building up Peace Park.

Connections made that day led to Keeley Construction to invite that same group of 35 students from Job Corps to an onsite career exploration to get a deep dive on one of Keeley Construction’s recent construction projects: the Saint Louis City Soccer Stadium downtown. Students toured the completed Keeley worksite and engaged in activities focused on strengthening resumes and career preparation. They also received an overview of the industry and participated in a related Q&A session.

The event was coordinated by Stl.works, an initiative of the Regional Business Council.
