Skilled Trades Industrial Occupations Technology, Associate in Applied Science (AAS), Certificate of Specialization (CS)

This program allows you to earn an associate degree or certificate of specialization tailored to your occupational/career needs. In addition, on-the-job training and/or supervised work-based learning, including electric and carpenter apprentice programs, may be included in the student’s degree program. Areas of concentration may include aerospace assembly worker, carpenter apprenticeship, electronic alarm technician, machine technician apprenticeship and sheet metal worker.

Robotics and Automation, Certificate of Specialization (CS)

This program focuses on robotics and automation techniques within the workplace. You take courses which emphasize the use of equipment. The program provides a mix of theory and hands-on training. Anyone interested in this program should be mechanically inclined, and a logic-oriented self-starter. Graduates are qualified for technical positions within the automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment, chemical, electrical, petroleum and food processing industries that use robotics and automation processes.

This program prepares students for positions as respiratory therapists. Students learn to administer treatment(s) or conduct tests on persons with lung and heart ailments, as ordered by a patient’s physician. The program includes natural sciences, humanities and respiratory therapy courses, in addition to clinical practice at area health facilities.

This program prepares you for entry-level jobs in the machine tool trade. Students will learn to safely set up and operate milling machines, lathes, grinders and drill presses. They will also learn the basics of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine set up and operation. The program is designed around the National Institute for Metalworking skills (NIMS) credentials and prepares students for testing in seven of the level one credentials.
