This program provides students with skills necessary to enter the field of biomedical electronics technology as Biomedical Electronics Technicians (BMET). Students will learn human anatomy, electrical and electronic concepts associated with medical electronics and devices, basic science behind instruments, and troubleshooting techniques. This program also serves as exam preparation for Certification for the Biomedical Equipment Technician of the International Certification Commission (ICC) for Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Technology.

As healthcare reform continues in the United States, support positions in the helping fields are critical for creating better client outcomes and experiences, as well as reducing costs. The Associate in Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support program trains graduates to obtain employment as a support professional in the areas of addiction, disabilities, education support, mental health and psychiatric care. Graduates of this program are qualified for employment in entry-level positions in state, county and local human service agencies, substance use disorder facilities, community mental health centers, hospitals, schools and other identified agencies.

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) care for people who are sick, injured, convalescent, or disabled under the direction of physicians and registered nurses. Fully approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing, Applied Technology Services offers a one-year Practical Nursing program at the MET Center in Wellston and South Tech in Sunset Hills. This comprehensive program will prepare you to take the NCLEX-PN exam which is the final step in attaining your license as a Practical Nurse.

Harambee is a not-for-profit organization which partners with local churches, businesses, and organizations to engage at-risk urban youth an opportunity to learn a healthy work ethic, self-discipline, confidence, and team dynamics as well as profitable skills in the construction trades. Teens work in landscaping, general property maintenance, roofing and light construction.

NSEC trains students in office skills and construction trades. They offer free basic skills assessment, job readiness education and training, career assessment and planning, computer classes, summer youth internships, and more.
